In short
CityBus has no accounts, no analytics and no ads, and doesn’t send your location to its server. The map inside the app comes from Mapbox, which collects usage data unless you turn it off.
Who we are
CityBus is a free iPhone app for Cluj-Napoca’s buses, trolleybuses and trams, made by [name], [address]. CityBus isn’t affiliated with any transit operator. Questions about this policy: [support email].
What CityBus collects
No account or sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting service and no advertising. The server keeps short-lived logs with IP addresses (below).
Your location
Location is optional. If you allow it, CityBus uses it on your iPhone to show the stops near you and to center the map on you. CityBus doesn’t send your location to its server and doesn’t write it to its log. Mapbox, which draws the map, can receive it as part of its usage data (see Mapbox, below).
What the app asks our server for
To show bus times, the app downloads timetables and the buses’ latest locations from the CityBus server. These requests don’t include your location or the stops you open. Like any server, ours sees your IP address, the app version and the iOS version. Server logs with IP addresses are kept for [n] days, to keep the service running and safe from abuse. This is our legitimate interest under the GDPR.
Mapbox
The map in the app is provided by Mapbox. By default, Mapbox collects usage data from the app, including your location when the app can use it, a random identifier and how the map is used, to run and improve its maps. In the App Store’s privacy details, this data is listed as not linked to you and not used to track you. To turn it off, tap ⓘ at the lower left of the map and opt out of Mapbox Telemetry. Mapbox’s own privacy policy is at mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
On your iPhone
CityBus keeps the timetables, your recent stops and lines, and a few settings on your iPhone. A small technical log helps fix problems. It never holds your location, and the app doesn’t send it anywhere. Deleting the app removes all of it.
If you write to us
We use your email address and message only to answer you. An email started from the app includes the app and iOS versions, to help us find the problem. We delete support emails after [n] months.
This website
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no ads. Its host, Vercel, keeps server logs with IP addresses for [n] days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. Write to [support email]. You can also complain to Romania’s data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).

Common questions
Where do the times come from?
Live times come from the locations the buses report, through Tranzy. Scheduled times come from the timetables your city’s operator publishes.
What does ~ before a time mean?
The bus hasn’t reported its location for a while, so its time is approximate. It’s worked out from where the bus was last seen.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The timetables are on your iPhone, so stops, search and scheduled times work offline. Live times come back when you’re online again.
Why don’t I see stops near me?
CityBus needs your precise location for that. In Settings › CityBus › Location, allow location and turn on Precise Location.
Is CityBus in Romanian?
Not yet. The app is in English for now, and stop names are as the operator writes them.
A bus didn’t come, or I lost something. Who do I ask?
For service, tickets and lost items, ask your city’s operator. CityBus isn’t affiliated with any transit operator: it only shows the timetables and where the buses are. If a time in CityBus looks wrong, write to us.

Ce colectează CityBus

Locația ta
Locația e opțională. Dacă o permiți, CityBus o folosește pe iPhone ca să-ți arate stațiile din apropiere și ca să centreze harta pe tine. Ce cere aplicația serverului nostru
Ca să arate timpii, aplicația descarcă de pe serverul CityBus orarele și ultimele locații ale autobuzelor. Cererile nu conțin locația ta și nici stațiile pe care le deschizi. Ca orice server, al nostru vede adresa IP, versiunea aplicației și versiunea de iOS. Jurnalele serverului, cu adresele IP, sunt păstrate [n] zile, ca serviciul să funcționeze și să fie protejat de abuzuri. Temeiul este interesul nostru legitim, conform GDPR.
Mapbox
Harta din aplicație e furnizată de Mapbox. Implicit, Mapbox colectează date de utilizare din aplicație, inclusiv locația ta când aplicația are acces la ea, un identificator aleatoriu și felul în care e folosită harta, pentru funcționarea și îmbunătățirea hărților sale. În detaliile de confidențialitate din App Store, aceste date apar ca nelegate de tine și nefolosite pentru urmărire. Ca să le oprești, atinge ⓘ în colțul din stânga jos al hărții și renunță la Mapbox Telemetry. Politica de confidențialitate a Mapbox e la mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
Pe iPhone-ul tău
CityBus păstrează pe iPhone orarele, stațiile și liniile recente și câteva setări. Un mic jurnal tehnic ajută la rezolvarea problemelor. Nu conține niciodată locația ta, iar aplicația nu-l trimite nicăieri. Dacă ștergi aplicația, se șterg toate.
Dacă ne scrii
Folosim adresa ta de email și mesajul doar ca să-ți răspundem. Un email început din aplicație conține versiunea aplicației și pe cea de iOS, ca să găsim mai ușor problema. Ștergem emailurile de asistență după [n] luni.
Acest site
Acest site nu are cookie-uri, statistici de utilizare sau reclame. Furnizorul de găzduire, Vercel, păstrează jurnale de server cu adrese IP timp de [n] zile.

De unde vin timpii?
Timpii live vin din locațiile transmise de autobuze, prin Tranzy. Orele programate vin din orarele publicate de operatorul de transport din orașul tău.
Ce înseamnă ~ în fața unui timp?
Autobuzul nu și-a mai transmis locația de ceva vreme, așa că timpul e aproximativ, calculat de unde a fost văzut ultima dată.
Merge fără internet?
Da. Orarele sunt pe iPhone, așa că stațiile, căutarea și orele programate merg și offline. Timpii live revin când ai din nou internet.
De ce nu văd stațiile din apropiere?
Pentru asta, CityBus are nevoie de locația exactă. În Configurări › CityBus › Localizare, permite accesul la locație și activează Localizare exactă.
CityBus e și în română?
Încă nu. Deocamdată aplicația e în engleză, iar numele stațiilor sunt cum le scrie operatorul de transport.
Un autobuz n-a venit sau am pierdut ceva. Pe cine întreb?
Pentru circulație, bilete și obiecte pierdute, întreabă operatorul de transport din orașul tău. CityBus nu are legătură cu niciun operator de transport: doar arată orarele și unde sunt autobuzele. Dacă un timp din CityBus pare greșit, scrie-ne.

Between updates it glides along its line, so nothing jumps.
